About Us - How we began

Glass Artists of the Pikes Peak Region (GAPPR) was founded as a non-profit in 2007 by a handful of glass enthusiasts. These glass artists and crafter's joined together to form this non-professional group as a networking and mentoring entity with the hopes of encouraging and sharing their love of glass art in the Colorado Springs area.

Today, GAPPR continues to be open to all individuals no matter what their level of glass experience. Those that have studios and sell in galleries, to those who just picked up a glass cutter are welcome. And, we have most disciplines represented... Cold glass (lead and copper foil); Warm glass (fusing and slumping etc...) and Hot glass (lamp working, casting and blowing). We come together to share, learn and encourage the work and appreciation of this Art form to each other and in our community.

GAPPR is an evolving organization as we look for new ideas and new energy to make things happen. For our growing Membership, we schedule several glass focused programs throughout the year. We have sponsors offering benefits to our members and others that donate items to some of our activities. GAPPR also hosts "Glass in the Springs", which is our Annual glass art show where we exhibit our creations and educate the public in regards to the art of glass.

**GAPPR is a 501(c)-4 non-profit, and a non-professional organization. GAPPR was formed to mentor and educate.
